Dodoma is the capital of Tanzania, having taken over the official role of the former capital Dar es Salaam. Although plans to move the capital date back to 1973, Tanzania’s National Assembly moved to Dodoma only in 1996, but still many government offices remain in Dar es Salaam.
We offer volunteer placements within Dodoma town, and in the surrounding rural communities. Dodoma has its own airport, mainly serviced by domestic flights from within Tanzania. International travelers mainly arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport or Julius Nyerere International Airport.
